Meet Robert, my second baby boy <3!
What I like about being a photographer is the ability to give my own family a gift of priceless memories. I wouldn’t be an authentic and a true photographer if I weren’t living by what I preach. And what I preach is simple: photography is a special gift that makes the moments in our lives freeze in time and remain forever in our hearts. So, I try my very best to photograph my own family on every occasion, especially when it comes to such a special one as a new baby in the family!
I started to plan Robert’s newborn photo session soon after I found out that I was pregnant. I was beyond excited to capture all the sweetness of this new baby. The excitement was amplified by the fact that I didn’t make one for my oldest son, Martin. Since I wasn’t a photographer yet 5 years ago, when he was born, the necessity to have his newborn photos taken didn’t occur to me and I’ve come to deeply regret it.
Envisioning Robert’s newborn photo session in my head, I really wanted to create a mix between posed and lifestyle photos. I also saw them all being white. When it comes to photography, I love white colour for its simplicity, pureness and ability to bring the viewers’ attention straight to the subject.
Robert was such a good model despite the fact that I was dead tired and exhausted in the first few weeks of his life. I’ve realized his newborn pictures in three parts because I was tired and wanted to lay down while he was sleeping, lol. So, I know how overwhelming both emotionally and physically it can be. The first weeks are never easy. I feel you ladies! I was there twice! But I can assure you of one thing: you will not regret having your baby’s newborn photographs taken. These photographs will bring you so much sweetness, smiles and warm feelings ever single time you would look at them that you’ll reminisce on these times as a walk in the park.
Today, by looking at Robert’s pictures taken exactly three months ago, I can see how much he changed already. And every time I look at them, my heart fills with joy and happiness.
I will make a separate blog post to show you all the prints and other products that I’ve created out of these photographs.
Enjoy!
